19.10.2015 - Green building certification

The health of people and the environment is very important to RPHI. All projects have been successfully certified or pre-certified since 2011. Most recently, component C of the “R19” (office building Space2Move) was certified with LEED Gold in the category “new construction” at the end of August 2015.
Recognised certification systems such as LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental design – U.S.A.), ÖGNI (Austrian Association for Sustainable Real Estate) and DGNB (German Association for Sustainable Construction) are important instruments within the real estate industry for assessing the the sustainability of a building for its competitiveness.

The criteria for the certification of a building according to LEED are the following five categories:

  • Sustainable construction sites
  • Water efficiency
  • Energy and atmosphere
  • Materials and resources
  • Air quality in the building

A sixth category, “Innovation and Design Process” covers all areas that cannot be allocated to the other categories, such as acoustics.
