Raiffeisen Banka Finances Construction of New Head Office in its Ownership

After nine years of successful business activities in Serbia, Raiffeisen banka decided to finance the construction of a building in its ownership, demonstrating this way a clear commitment to continue with the very dynamic development of its business activities in this market. “Raiffeisen banka brought the decision to build its head office in the period before the economic crisis, while the decision regarding a significant extension of the initial plan and the construction of its new head office was brought only in the course of the past several months, regardless of the economic environment at the moment. The aim of this decision is to position the bank even better, preparing it for the period of economic growth that lies ahead. With this investment Raiffeisen banka wishes to send a clear signal that the Serbian market remains very important and interesting, and that it is certainly worth of long-term investing”, stated Oliver Roegl, Chairman of the Managing Board of Raiffeisen banka.

As the first bank with 100% foreign capital, Raiffeisen banka has in the past decade strengthened its position in the market, becoming one of the leading banks in Serbia. The bank achieved very good business results even in the changed economic environment in 2009.
By constructing its new head office in the capital of Serbia, Raiffeisen banka wishes to unify all its administrative and back office services, this way creating a good basis for the further development of its business activities in Serbia.

The new head office building of Raiffeisen banka will be situated at a very attractive business location – Block 66a in Novi Beograd. The total building area will comprise around 21,000 m2, with around 1,150 employees to be situated there. The value of this investment exceeds EUR 30 million, and moving into the premises is planned for the start of 2012.

Environmental protection

The building was designed as a modern office space, following the current architectural trends. “As a company engaged in promoting socially responsible behaviour, Raiffeisen banka also cares about protecting the environment, so that energy saving principles were implemented in the design of installation systems, by using modern renewable energy systems and optimization of technical parameters for ventilation and air conditioning, stated Jelena Popović, Head of General Services Division in Raiffeisen banka.

The modern architecture of the building and the top construction quality, while complying with the principles of environment protection, will certainly contribute to the further development and improvement of the visual identity of this part of Belgrade.
