ESG at RPHI

Sustainability

Sustainability is a key issue for companies. "The future concerns us all" – a frequent quote that we at RPHI take very seriously. We proactively take measures to help shape a world worth living in, also for future generations.

What ESG means for us

To make our sustainable efforts measurable, we integrate ESG principles (environmental, social and governance) into our corporate strategy.

ESG Skytower

The E: Environmental

Our goal is to operate our buildings as environmentally friendly and efficiently as possible – with activities like the installation of photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, electricity procurement from renewable energy sources, waste separation, water-saving measures or the use of e-charging stations.

The majority of our existing buildings have already been awarded renowned international certificates such as ÖGNI/DGNB and LEED. The SkyTower in Bucharest was the first building in Romania to receive the LEED Platinum certificate for "Operation & Maintenance". In our development projects, we apply the highest ESG standards in planning and execution.

The S: Social

Companies need be aware of their social responsibility. RPHI wants to give back to society purposefully and regularly donates to charitable organizations.

We also believe that satisfied employees increase the value of a company. We put this into practice for example by enabling home office (not just since the pandemic), ergonomic workplace design (including home offices) and numerous social benefits. Ongoing training of our workforce is another building block of our corporate philosophy.

The G: Governance

As part of a large banking group, regulatory and safety issues play an important role at RPHI. In recent years, the renowned Safe Asset Group audited most of our buildings for compliance with government and international security requirements and regulations and have received the appropriate SHORE certifications as a result.

Even during the challenging situation in Ukraine, we were able to obtain a "SHORE Gold Certification" for the Radisson Blu Hotel in Kyiv. The hotel has been in operation and open for guests even during the war (except for a few weeks).
